ドイツ期待のテノール、ヨナス・カウフマンのCD「ロマンティック・アリアス」を聴き、その声に魅了されました。彼の特質は何と言ってもイタリア、フランス、ドイツロマン派のオペラをどれも高いレベルで表現できることです。高音でも安定していて、音色豊かな彼の声質は、21世紀前半を代表する歌手の登場を予感させる「輝き」に満ちています。そしてさらに人を惹きつける容姿にも、スターの素質に恵まれています。
でも、実際に聴くまでは・・・実は昨年末チューリッヒ歌劇場を訪れた時ロドルフォを歌う予定で楽しみにしていましたが、彼が病気でキャンセルしてしまい聞くことができませんでした。このCDを聴くにつけ、残念でなりません。

カルメンのホセは2006年のロンドン公演の時のものです。


The new CD by German Tenor Jonas Kaufmann is really worth to listen. Perhaps he will be a unique german tenor singer, because he has german, italian and french romantic operas in his repertoires. His voce is very attractive as well as his looks!
I missed to listen him in Zurich last year, because he has cancelled his stage 'La Boheme' in Zurich because of his illnes. Listening this CD, I wish to go his performances in near future.

モーツァルト:ヴァイオリン協奏曲全集

とても刺激的なアルバムです。アバドが新しく組織した古楽器オーケストラを指揮して、モーツァルトのヴァイオリン協奏曲を録音。独奏はカルミニョーラ。アバドもここまで来たか、というのがまず第１の感想。しかし、作品の原典に立ち返って演奏するというのは、アバドの若い頃からの姿勢でもあるので、当然の帰結といえるかもしれません。
アバドはこれまでも若い音楽家を中心とするオーケストラをいくつも立ち上げてきました。しかし今回のオーケストラがもつ意味は、これまとはまったく違っていると思います。
1950年代からウィーン・コンツェントゥス・ムジクスをはじめ多くの古楽器アンサンブルが創設されてきました。しかしこれらはおもに古楽を専門とする音楽家によって組織されたものです。こうした音楽家たちは1980年代以降現代楽器のオーケストラに客演し、古楽の経験に基づく演奏解釈で古典に新しい光をあててきました。
このアバドの試みはまったく新しいものです。既存の古楽アンサンブルに客演するのではなく、アバドが創設した古楽オーケストラなのです。
この組み合わせによるモーツァルトの交響曲集もライブ録音で同時に発売されています。
演奏は、現代楽器の古楽奏法が当たり前になった現代において、古楽器を用いる意味を改めて知らせてくれると思います。

仙台市内は地下鉄がストップ。新幹線、JR在来線もストップしました。今日は生涯学習の講座の日でしたが、私は大学までバスを使ったので全く問題がありませんでした。しかし講座をやっている間も、何度か余震が感じられました。
講座が14時に終わったあとは、そのまま仙台空港へ。明日の朝から指揮法のセミナーが札幌であります。今日は仙台空港アクセス線も運休になりましたが、私は稲荷タクシーの仙台空港便の予約を前からしていたので、まったく支障がありませんでした。無事札幌到着。ほっと一息。

ホロヴィッツ・イン・ハンブルク ラスト・コンサート

ホロヴィッツ最後のコンサートを収録したＣＤがリリースされて、即座に買ってしまいました。1987年ホロヴィッツはアムステルダム、ウィーン、ベルリン、ハンブルクとコンサートを開きました。
その最後のハンブルクでの演奏会はＮＤＲ（北ドイツ放送）によって録音されていて、それがこのＣＤの音源です。当日演奏された曲目のうち、シューベルトの即興曲だけが収録されていない（録音されなかった）他は、このコンサートを聞くことができます。
実は、私はアムステルダムで、同じプログラムによるホロヴィッツのコンサートをｺﾝｾﾙﾄﾍﾎﾞｳのそれも最前列で実際に聴いていました。ＣＤを聴きながら当時を思い出したりもしていました。

何よりも、その音の美しさと軽ろやかさ、そしてどこまでも歌うカンタービレに魅せられました。確かに全盛期のバリバリの技巧は衰えていたかもしれませんが、それを補って余りある「音楽」を私たちに聴かせてくれたと思います。それはほんとうに今まで聞いたことのないほどすばらしいピアノでした。数多くのすばらしいコンサートを聞く機会に恵まれますたが、もしどれが一番印象に残ったか、と聞かれれば、迷わず「ホロヴィッツ」と答えるでしょう。それはほんとうに歴史の一コマというにふさわしい出来事でした。
それがこのような形で蘇るのはうれしい限りです。とにかくお勧めのひとことです。

What an experience to listen the concert of Vladimir Horowitz! He was the one of the greatest pianist in music history. In 1987 he gave concerts in Amsterdam,Berlin , Wien and Hamburg. His last concert in Hamburg was recorded by the NDR (Norddeutsch Rundfunk) and this recording is now available as a CD. You can listen all the program Horowitz played at the concert, except Schubert's Impromptu, which was not recoreded from technical reason.
I bought this CD especially because while I listened his concert in Amsterdam; he played at the Concertgebouw same program as in Hamburg.
Horowitz played with full of beauty.The CD recalls me exactly what I have listend at the time. I am sure it was and is the best concert what I have ever visited! The CD will show you a historical moment of music.
It is Horowitz, the pianist and nobody else!

We must therfore deside Tempo after Italian Tempo indications which Brahms left on the scores. But the question remains, how slow or fast it should be played? It depends upon general acceptance of each... But how about is the word 'Un poco sosutenuto' at the begininng of his first symphony? Is it slow or fast? The traditional performance tends to interprete this part as a 'slow introduction', as in the symphonies by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven. So the 6/8 will be conducted in six, therefore each 8th note one beat. But there is no confirmation! Is it really what Brahms intended?

A brief study about the usage of 6/8 time by Brahms, especialy in his instrumental music could be a key to comprehend and imaginate his tempo indication 'Un poco sostenuto' of his first symphony.

Gige, hunt music(caccia) or barcalore are typcal 6/8 beat music. They have vivid or comfortable movement in itself. We can find such examples in the 'Haydn Variations' by Brahms.

In this case they have tempo indications 'Vivace' and 'Grazioso' A similar example for 'Vivace" is his 3rd String Quartet.

In the first movement of his Clarinet Quintet we can see an exaple 6/8 for Allegro.

At the end of this consideration, I would like to mention anout the fact that the coda of the first movement was indicated in the first editon of 1877 'Poco sostenuto'! But Brahmas has changed or had to change this indication into 'Meno Allgro' in the later edition, because it had played too slow! The beginning of the movement was also changed from `Sostenuto' into `Un poco Sostenuto'!
In my oppinion, that could show us the tempo at the beginning was not very slow as conventional interpretation.

そもそも初演は49人編成だったのですから、ありえない話ではないのです。

Today I go to Nigata-City for a rehersal with the Niigata Chamber Ensemble(NCE).
Sorry for my delay to update, I have some duties in my work; editing and making orchestral parts for Menuet antique by Ravel, compareing Schuberts Manuscripts and printed parts of the incidental music 'Rosamunde' and preparing the lectures at the Miyagi Gakuin.

In November I will conduct the frist symphony by Brahms with the NCE. You wonder 'Brahms symphonies with a chamber orchestra?' But it has historical backgrounds; the orchestra of the first performance at Karlsruhe was not large, it has only 49 players and Brahms affection to the Mainingen Orchestra, which has also about 50 players, in his lifetime shows us his actual sound idea. Now is the time we refresh his orchstral works with our experience about historical performance practice.

バーバラ･ヘンドリックスの歌でシューベルトの歌曲を聴きました。
演奏会場のホールB5は座席が250に設定されていて、リートを聴くのには理想的な広さです。
ヘンドリックスの歌は時にドイツ語のアーティキュレーションが
ハッキリしないところがあったものの、歌唱という点ではすばらし
く声も魅力的でした。圧巻は「糸を紡ぐグレートヒェン」で、
2節目の終わり "und ach, sein Kuß!" の感情表現や、3節目の
"Meine Ruh ist hin,"のピアニッシモでの歌い方などは、音量は
小さいにもかかわらず、声は安定していて、表現的にはむしろ
強くなっているのはさすが。
そして4節目、最後の"Meine Ruh ist hin,"では "hin"（消え去る）
を、それまでとは違って強調して歌うことで、もう帰ってこない
ことを表現していました。

In the 'La folle jpurnee au Japon" Barbara Hendricks gave
her 'Liederabend' with songs by Schubert.
It is very important to listen songs by Schubert in a small
hall, so that we can imagine the atmospher of "Schubertiade" with his friends in Vienna in 19th century..
In this sense it was ideal to have at the Hall B5 in the
Forum, because the Hall was seted up about 250 seats.

Sometimes Hendricks' German was not enough clear,
especially　"Der Musensohn".
But inspite of that Hendricks' singing is based on her
perfect trained vocal technique. Even in pianissimo phrasese she can sing without any influence on intonation and on musical expressions. Remarkable was "Gretchen am Spinrad" .
She sang "und ach, sein Kuß！" with full of emotion,
and the following third refrain 'Meine Ruh' was performed
with excllent pianissimo. The last and fourth strophe 'Meine Ruh is hin' was emphasized with an expressive accent on the word 'hin'(go away),
so everybody understood that Gretchen's hope has gone away.

My visit to the south Taiwan was really a nice experience.
The interest of japanese tourist to Taiwan tends to visit
on cities, but it is worth to know about the nature of
this island.
To tell the trith I have never heared befor about Kentin. There is a national park and rich of nature.Kenting face to the Taiwn-and Bashi Chanell and The Pasific ocean. There are beaches and in summer come many tourist.

It was my first visit to the cities in the southern Taiwan,
I was so impressed by Koahsiung. It seems to be quite right
time to visit there, because it is not very hot（but 28C).

高雄の町は現在地下鉄２路線の工事中。1路線は今年、もうひとつは来年の完成だそうです。これにより市内でのアクセスはよくなると予想されています。
The ciyt is now changing,two Subway Lines (MRT) are now
under the construction, and one of them will be completed soon.

高雄にきたら、やはり海を見たいと思いました。港町にはどこか世界共通の
雰囲気があるようです。
Kaohsiung is a Habor city. It's atmospher remember me other
Harbor cities, like Yokohama, Amsterdam or Hamburg.
